If you answered yes to these three questions, then you might be the right person for this job. No experience is necessary. What is necessary is a positive attitude, a desire to interact with people in a positive manner and a willingness to learn.
We have two positions at the cafe:
Counter Service (Entry Level position)
- Expectation – The first point of contact for the customer. As such, you will be expected to provide the customer with a friendly interaction and courteous service.
- Skills – friendly and willing to engage with strangers. Comfortable learning to use a point-of-sale computer program.
- Work – During your shift you will prepare simple coffee and other drinks, assemble food orders, keep product stocked, and keep the cafe clean.
- Challenges – What makes this job challenging is you will need to handle the pressure of periods of busy-ness and then to keep busy when business is slower.
Barista (Experienced position)
- Expectation – Efficient and creative production of espresso-based drinks while interacting with the public in a friendly manner.
- Skills – Willingness to learn the art of espresso drinks and to provide a visual experience while creating the drinks. Also to assist with all Counter Service tasks. To be able to open and close the establishment.
- Baking – By the time you are promoted to barista, you will also be able to make any of our baked products from scratch.
